A strong workforce is imperative to economic development in the state. A skilled and educated workforce draws businesses to our state and encourages existing businesses to expand right here in Delaware. Whether college bound or preparing for a technical or trade job, individuals need to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to be productive employees and citizens. Superstars in Education seeks to celebrate programs that contribute to the development of our workforce.
For 30 years, the Superstars in Education awards have recognized more than 200 educational programs for innovative and impactful programming. Superstars in Education has celebrated the commitment and dedication of Delaware’s educators by recognizing their innovations and achievements. Today, we recognize the need to also acknowledge programs outside of the traditional K-12 system that contribute to the creation of career-ready individuals.
This year, we are extending our Superstars in Education eligibility to include independent training and certificate providers with programs that are meeting the needs of employers and higher education programs that similarly assist full-time and non-traditional students in becoming workforce ready or preparing for advancement in their careers.
Awards may be judged in the following three categories: high school programs, independent training and certificate programs, and higher education workforce development programs.
