What is the Delaware State Chamber Foundation?
A 501(c)(3) affiliate of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce, the Delaware State Chamber Foundation supports research, programs, and initiatives that advance Delaware’s economic climate and the prosperity of all Delawareans.
Through nonpartisan research, data-driven analysis, and thoughtful collaboration, the Foundation addresses the most pressing challenges facing the business community, tracks Delaware’s competitiveness over time, and produces insights that can be turned into actionable policy solutions.
The Foundation is a convener, resource, advocate, and driver of a forward-looking vision that supports sustainable economic growth and positions Delaware as a top state for job creation, economic activity, and quality of life.
How is the Foundation different than the State Chamber?
The Delaware State Chamber and the Delaware State Chamber Foundation share a similar mission but operate as distinct entities.
The State Chamber, a 501(c)6, is a bipartisan organization that focuses on real-time member-driven policy and regulation advocacy to support policies that promote economic growth and business success.
The Foundation, a 501(c)3, is the nonpartisan arm of the State Chamber that produces research and data that informs the State Chamber's policy agenda. The Foundation focuses on evidence and on convening around future-focused issues rather than on direct advocacy.
Together, these organizations create active thought leadership.
What work does the Foundation do?
Our workstreams are created by addressing what the business community identifies as their greatest challenges. These topics are ever-changing and span healthcare, education and workforce, tax policy, permitting, and Delaware's overall economic development, all with the goal of actionable plans and steps.
In practice, that means white papers and data analysis, stakeholder coalitions, roundtables, and business sentiment research that arm the business community, policymakers, and the public to make informed decisions.
How can I get involved?
There are multiple ways to get involved with the Delaware State Chamber Foundation. You can donate to the Foundation as a Friend to support our research or become a Patron of the Foundation to receive early access to completed research.
For those looking to get more deeply involved, join the Council of Fellows to attend quarterly briefings, propose ideas, and participate in the research process.
