TURNING IDEAS INTO ACTION: RISK REDUCTION, SCREENING &
BEHAVIORAL CHANGE
So you want
to start a wellness or risk reduction program in your company.
Now what? The goal of this session is to prepare employers, HR
personnel and front-line managers to be proactive in the
workplace about improving public health by focusing on health
and wellness, personal behaviors, tobacco usage, nutrition, risk
reduction, and screenings. Participants will receive guidance
and information on how to implement a cancer risk-reduction,
screening and/or wellness program in the workplace.

EMOTIONAL SIDE OF CANCER
A cancer
diagnosis extends beyond the patient. Family, friends and
co-workers are affected as well. This panel addresses the
emotional and psychological impacts of a cancer diagnosis, and
the unique challenges it poses for an employer, supervisor,
co-workers and friends. Several cancer survivors, some of whom
are also managers, will share their own experiences to help
employers become more successful in maintaining a productive
workforce when issues of cancer diagnosis emerge.
