| State Chamber
Goals The
following goals and the means by which to achieve them are
offered as essential to setting the stage for the State Chamber
to play the leading role in helping Delaware’s companies emerge
from the economic downturn intact and prosperous, especially in
comparison with others in our region of the country:
- Promote positive economic
growth and actively monitor laws and regulations that are
barriers to responsible growth by working with the State
Administration in the execution of Livable Delaware and with
legislators at all levels in government on issues such as
workers compensation costs, environmental legislation,
education and work force development, spending and legal
reforms.
- Reinforce the notion that, as
the largest business organization in the state with the most
diverse types of businesses, the State Chamber is the best and
fastest gateway for obtaining informed and demographically
diverse information and resources from the private sector. We
will also use coalitions as much as possible to have a
stronger voice in policy decision making and to minimize
duplication of effort.
- Encourage more interaction
between large corporate representatives and businesspeople
from small and medium-sized companies to reinforce the
importance of business as the engine that drives the Delaware
economy.
