2009 Marvin S. Gilman Superstars in Business
Awards
The Marvin S. Gilman Superstars in Business Awards, named for one of
Delaware’s leading small business entrepreneurs, honor businesses
and nonprofit corporations for their outstanding achievements and
model approaches to business and management. They are presented to
companies that have been in business for at least three years, have
no more than 150 employees, and are members of the Delaware State
Chamber of Commerce. Awards of Excellence are also granted to
deserving companies.
2009 Superstars in Business Award Winners:
Home Instead Senior Care (Category of up to 25 employees)
Opened in 2003, Home Instead Senior Care provides a range of
non-medical services that enable seniors to remain safe and
comfortable at home. These services consist of companionship,
homemaking, and personal care and include: errands,
transportation, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication
reminders and assistance with bathing and personal hygiene. The
company has two offices: one in Wilmington and Newark
Landmark Engineering, Inc. (Category of 26 to 64
employees)
Incorporated in 1987, Landmark Engineering is a civil and site
specialist consulting firm in New Castle that provides
professional land surveying, land planning, civil engineering
and site design services for commercial office and retail,
industrial parks, schools and other institutions, resident
subdivisions and transportation projects.
Aloysius Butler & Clark (Category of 65 to 150 employees)
Aloysius Butler & Clark is a full-service marketing, advertising
and public relations firm established in business-to-business
and consumer marketing. The agency works with clients in a
variety of industries including health care, finance, technology
and tourism. Since 1972, the firm is dedicated to helping
clients meet their business goals.
Catholic Charities Inc. (Non-profit organization
category)
Catholic Charities Inc. of the Diocese of Wilmington delivers
critical cares to individuals and families residing in Delaware
and the Eastern Shore of Maryland such as food, clothing,
shelter and emergency financial assistance. Catholic Charities
Inc. also provides services such as addiction counseling,
adoption, anger management counseling, immigration and refugee
settlement counseling and more. The organization has been in
service for 180 years and is based in Wilmington.

Provides responsive, expert computer support.
Sussex Printing Corp., DBA The Guide (Category of 26 to
64 employees)
A full-service, commercial printing company that publishes two
weekly advertising publications.
Colonial Parking (Category of 65 to 150 employees)
Offers parking services in the Wilmington and mid-Atlantic
region since 1953.
Ronald McDonald House (Non-profit organization category)
Provides a “home away from home” for families of seriously or
chronically ill or injured children receiving treatment at area
hospitals.
Gilman
Bowl
The
Gilman Bowl is named after Marvin S. Gilman, who inspired the
beginning of the Superstars in Business Awards program in 1998.
He was an exemplary leader, a devoted and charitable
humanitarian and a paragon of small business in the State of
Delaware.
