Many State Chamber members play an
active role in the organization by volunteering to serve on a
number of committees. These committees focus on specific areas
of interest that are important to different segments of the
membership.
The Employee Relations Committee
discusses human resource management issues facing Delaware
employers and works to recommend and craft legislative

The Environmental Committee
is involved in the review and shaping of environmental
legislation, working closely with the Department of Natural

The Health Care Committee
provides discussion among Chamber members on health care issues
and feedback to the Chamber legislative team to assist them in

The Holding Company Committee
discusses issues affecting Delaware holding companies on the

The Legislative
Committee bands together Chamber members, lobbyists and
legislative representatives to address the legislative issues of
Chamber members at the local, state and federal levels. The
committee keeps members apprised of legislative activities
affecting both small and large businesses in Delaware. For more

The Tax Committee reviews
tax legislation and frequently lobbies for the reduction of
personal and business taxes in Delaware. For more information,

The Transportation Committee
assists Chamber members who are affected by adverse conditions
created by road construction and repair, creating a united voice
when making recommendations to the Delaware Department of

The Women In Business
Committee was formed to support, develop and promote
Delaware women in business through networking, education and
information exchange by providing connections to accomplished
leaders in business and legislature, and working in partnership
with existing organizations with a common purpose. For more

Chamber Affiliate Groups
The Delaware Retail Council
meets periodically to address issues of concern to Delaware
retailers such as sales tax, minimum wage and workers’

The Delaware Manufacturing
Association is a State Chamber affiliate representing
more than 250 manufacturers. Led by a Board of Managers, its
purpose is to recommend public policy initiatives that will
foster a positive environment for manufacturers. There is a
strong emphasis on environmental regulatory issues,
infrastructure planning, workers’ compensation, employee
relations and science/technology education. For more information

The Small Business Alliance
represents 2,800 companies with 150 or fewer employees. Led by
its own Board of Managers, this group includes three committees
that focus on the areas of benefits and services, legislative
policy and training and development. For more information,

Business Development Group
The Business Development Group offers State Chamber members
a powerful lead group, with the added bonus of no fees. Two
groups, one in Wilmington and one in Middletown, meet twice a
week. Members can network,
exchange leads and view presentations from businesses belonging
to the Development Group. Periodically, an outside presenter
will join the group to speak on a variety of topics. Membership
in the group is free. Seating is limited, so call today. To
