Small Business Alliance Names New Leadership

John Riabov of the Delaware Alliance for Excellence, pictured at left, has joined Cynthia Dwyer of the Wellness Community – Delaware as co-chair of the Small Business Alliance Board of Managers. Riabov was elected by the Alliance Board and will serve a two-year term. The Alliance has also announced that the following business leaders have joined its Board of Managers for a one-year term: Tim Boulden, Boulden, Inc.; Kevin Fasic, Law Offices of G. Kevin Fasic; Lee Mikles, The Archer Group; Scott Thomas, Southern Delaware Tourism Office; Bill Parks, Colonial Parking, Inc. To see the entire Board of Managers list, click here.

 


Women in Business Committee

The Women In Business Committee was formed to support, develop and promote Delaware women in business through networking, education and information exchange by providing connections to accomplished leaders in business and legislature, and working in partnership with existing organizations with a common purpose. The next meeting is scheduled for March 4. UD to Present Forum on Entrepreneurship
The University of Delaware will present a one-day conference on April 25 examining the role of entrepreneurship in promoting economic growth and development, how to cultivate it and its implications for Delaware and the region. State Chamber members are eligible for a $100 discount off of a Dale Carnegie sales workshop. "How to Sell Like a Pro" is designed for sales people whose schedules won't allow them to take Dale Carnegie's extensive eight-week Sales Advantage course. It has the same proven content, but is transformed into an accelerated learning format. In just three days, attendees will cover prospecting, getting appointments, establishing rapport, crafting solutions, overcoming objections, closing the deal, time and territory management and creating a personal success plan. This workshop will be held February 29, and March 7 & 14 from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. in Rehoboth Beach.
