Business Alliance Names New Leadership
The Small Business Alliance Board
of Managers kicked off the New Year with the election of two
business leaders to guide the State Chamber’s support of
Delaware’s small businesses. The new co-chairmen are Don
Fulton (right) managing partner of George J. Weiner
Associates, and Bill Parks (left), CFO for Colonial
Parking, Inc.
The
Alliance has also announced that the following business
leaders have joined its Board of Managers:
Pam
Cornforth
of the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware, Janice Giannini
of Paradigm Associates, Michael Reath of Delmarva
Broadcasting Company and
Priscilla
Turgon
of Professional Staffing.

Benefits & Services Committee
– With an emphasis on member-to-member commerce, this
committee works to provide exclusive benefits for Chamber
members that will help them drive down the costs of doing
business.

Legislative Committee
– New Castle County Executive Chris Coons is the guest
speaker for the next Legislative Committee meeting. These
monthly meetings keep members apprised of local, state and
federal legislative issues.

March 17, 9 a.m.-10 a.m.
Women in Business Committee
– House Majority Whip Valerie Longhurst will speak at
this breakfast for business women. This committee was formed
to support Delaware women by providing connections to
accomplished leaders in business and legislature, and working
in partnership with existing organizations.
Thursday,
March 19, 9 a.m.-10 a.m.
Education & Development Committee –
This group
works to provide practical and affordable business training
programs statewide. Committee members share contacts and ideas
for workshop presentations.

Leadership Luncheon with U.S. Senator Ted Kaufman
Delaware’s newest senator has been
a fixture in Delaware and public service for almost his entire
career. Ted is a Duke-educated engineer with a Master’s Degree
from Wharton. He worked at the DuPont Company for seven years
before joining Senator Biden’s staff in 1973, where he served
