The Delaware Public Policy Institute (DPPI) is a non-profit, nonpartisan, nongovernmental public policy research organization. Its mission is to conduct research and encourage the study and discussion of public policy issues affecting the citizens of Delaware. The Institute identifies emerging issues that drive Delaware’s future public policy agenda.
DPPI has been intricately involved in Delaware’s ongoing, business-led public education reform movement, Vision 2015. DPPI Executive Director John Taylor is a member of the nine-member board that supervises the Vision Network of Schools.

DPPI has been a co-sponsor with the University of Delaware of the Knowledge-based Partnership Conference series. Currently, DPPI and UD are planning a conference for Dec. 13 and Dec. 14: Creating Green Energy Economies for Delaware, the Region and the Nation. Other conferences in this series were: Creating Knowledge-based Partnerships (November 2007), Creating a Livable Delaware (March 2008), Delaware Education for a Global Economy (October 2008), Stronger Health-Based Partnerships (March 2009), Vision 2015 and Delaware’s Race to the Top (October 2009), Creating New Economies for Delaware (November 2009), The Future of the Nonprofit Sector (March 2010), Vision 2015: Delaware’s Race to the Top (September 2010).

Since 2005, DPPI has conducted studies on school finance, water system infrastructure, health care and health insurance and the state’s permitting process. All have led to some changes in Delaware public policy.

DPPI has also been active in conducting topic-oriented political debates for statewide candidates.
